PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR Financial Services
The GlobalCom PR Network Competence Team for Financial Services spans the globe…
The GlobalCom PR network has a ten year legacy in delivering outstanding communications and PR for financial services clients.
The financial services industry has never been under more pressure. Old ways of working, along with the old attitudes that went with them, have been thrown out of the windows of skyscrapers in New York, Toronto, London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong as the global economy collapsed. In their place has come a recognition that the industry must face up to the challenge of convincing stakeholders – governments, businesses and consumers – that their money is not only safe with them but is in fact better off. Further still, some home truths about the sector’s crucial importance to the global economy recovery need to be communicated to rebuild confidence in the industry.
Driven by changing consumer behaviour, emerging technologies and a raft of new regulation, financial services and structures are being rewritten in every corner of the sector, underpinned by a huge investment in technology. This has opened up the market and the battle lines are being drawn as innovative upstarts compete with global behemoths for business. Whether it is high frequency trading, near field communications technology or the Single European Payment Area, financial services companies need to be able to navigate these complicated issues.
Ultimately it is a matter of building reputation and confidence. Existing and new players alike need to contend with the squeeze on capital, adapt to the demands for accountability and transparency, and take advantage of new technologies and customer needs.
Public relations for the financial services sector will have a critical role to play in separating the winners from the losers.
