Since 2011, Escapade, a GlobalCom PR Network team in the UK, has been working with digital camera manufacturer, PENTAX. The team’s remit is to reinvigorate the brand and create a step change in awareness and brand perception.
The PR team runs the product review programme, the results of which are hugely influential in customer purchase, helping to give Pentax’s products the edge in their categories as well as all creative campaigns for the brand. Most recently this includes the Meet Britain campaign; a nationwide competition asking members of the public to submit photos of the things they felt made Britain great in 2012, via Facebook. The campaign resulted in an increase in PENTAX’s Facebook fans of 262% and a sustained 33% engagement level on the platform. PENTAX was also approached by Harvey Nichols to begin selling in store and the K-30 product was ranged in Curry’s top 40 stores for the first time.
