The app. This expression is actually an abbreviation of the word application. Applications such as calendars and calculators had already been on the first mobile phones but with the invention of the iPhone a whole world with small varied apps seemed to arise. Meanwhile, the number of different apps for multiple operating systems on different output devices such as smartphones or tablet computers has become unmanageable, but you will always find new little gadgets that are more or less useful or that make everyday life easier.
Here are two top and flop apps:
1st place: “iMilk”
This app is simply the pinnacle of uselessness. For € 2.39 it is possible to have milk foamed up virtually and to simulate an extremely tasteless drinking experience. Perhaps we should rather buy a bottle of milk for 50 cents and dispense with this virtual game.
2nd place: “Will you marry me?”
A proposal for 79 cents? What’s the price of the world? Thanks to this “Will you marry me” iPhone app, a superfast and uncomplicated proposal is now possible. Maybe this app is dedicated to those men who lose their voice at that moment or are afraid of a “no”. Ladies, you have the choice: Either say “yes” or, at this point, maybe better rethink the whole thing again.
1st place: “Cam Scanner”
This app for iPhones is just great: the camera of the smartphone acts like a scanner and records quickly schedules, notes and newspaper articles – in every perspective! Afterwards, it is possible to edit the image, cut and digitize it. The document can be saved for example in your drop box. And the best part of it: it is for free.
“Dragon Dictation” is a speech-recognition software developed by the company Nuance Communications in form of a free app for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. The Apple gadget can be dictated text messages, emails, Tweets or Facebook updates. The app even recognizes punctuation marks easily.
So, this tool allows effective self-talk in any situation.
