CDNetworks is a global content delivery network, specialising in accelerating and securing web content worldwide. Faced with established competitors in Europe, CDNetworks needed to secure impactful media coverage and greater visibility in the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland managed by London-based PR Agency CCgroup and Munich-based PR Agency GlobalCom.
The Creative Approach
To distinguish CDNetworks from its competition, a marketing initiative was proposed. CDNetworks’ data would be combined with market research data, and in turn, that research would highlight the under-preparedness of businesses when it comes to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks whilst simultaneously positioning CDNetworks as a cybersecurity thought leader. A DDoS attack is an attempt to make an online service unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources. This DDoS campaign targeted IT departments and security leaders. The report was developed into a white paper, and from this, press releases and social media content were created.

It has 400 employees and unknown revenue. Its CDN network consists of 169 Point of Presence (PoPs) on six continents, with over 30 locations in Russia and China. Services include CDN, video acceleration, DDoS protection, cloud storage, cloud access security broker (CASB), web application firewall (WAF) and managed DNS with cloud load balancing. Key differentiators include a large number of global PoPs, good network presence in China and Russia, and high-profile clients such as Forbes, Samsung and Hyundai. CDNetworks has offices in the U.S., Korea, China, Japan, UK and Singapore.
