U.S. healthcare PR agency Centron joins GlobalCom

health starWe are happy to welcome the New York based PR company HealthStar Public Relations (now Centron) to our growing healthcare group. HSPR is a full service, independent agency dedicated solely to healthcare industry communications. Founded in 2003, HSPR employs more than 50 full-time client-service executives in Consumer Health, Rx and Device and Diagnostics. “A cooperation with an international PR network was definitely on our agenda when we were approached by GlobalCom”, says HSPR President and Chief Executive Officer Helene Ellison. “We will be happy to share our experience and contacts with our new international partners and thus contribute to the network’s success.”  

In the past three years HSPR has won more than 15 industry awards and was named fastest growing U.S. healthcare public relations agency in 2005 and 2006 by independent industry expert Jack O’Dwyer. “With HealthStar PR joining GlobalCom, our chances for international business have significantly increased”, says Claudia Wittwer, responsible for the network development at GlobalCom. “Our efforts to build up a strong healthcare competence group within the network turns out to be successful. Experiences with potential clients during the last couple of months are a clear sign to us that GlobalCom will be rewarded by the market for this strategy.”

Starting from the first virtual contacts and phone calls we have already moved one big step ahead, and the first personal meeting between GlobalCom and HSPR has meanwhile taken place. Martin Ellis, Chairman of London-based Medicom Group  (now Havas Life Medicom) and leader of GlobalCom’s Healthcare / Pharma task force, met the HSPR-team in New York before attending a congress in Washington. ”We found HealthStar’s approach encompassing policy, brand PR, advocacy, and media to be uniquely compatible with our global model,” says Ellis. “The inclusion of HealthStar PR means that the network has the expertise to serve healthcare clients in all major markets of the world.”
